As a Metal photographer I live and breath in the darkness. Always striving my best to capture the unique moments and freeze intense, brutal and ass kicking Metal. It’s almost like being in the frontline of a battle. The adrenaline in my body in synergy with the energy that comes from the stage, the raw power of the audience makes it all an exhilarating experience which is not comparable to anything else. Abbath gig in Gøteborg last weekend was a perfect example. The light was utterly challenging, but I managed (imo) to capture the essence and energy of that epic gig.

You do the best you can do with the light that is available for you.

No retreat, no surrender, you photograph like a true warrior!

One of metals most revered acts, Mercyful Fate, headlined Beyond the Gates X (2022). The highly influential band helmed by legendary singer King Diamond, played their first ever show in Norway. The venue for this very special occasion was the iconic Grieghallen, famous in metal communities for housing the studio where Emperor, Mayhem, Enslaved and Immortal recorded many of their classic albums.

Had the privilege to make an awesome music video as the lightning director for Necrolust Productions / NLP for the upcoming new Cadaver album with the title track Age Of The Offended. Here are the behind the scenes shots from the production day at Studio Studio Nyhagen at Toten at Ronnie Le Tekrø place. This was an awesome weekend and we learnt a lot.

Words cannot describe the feeling nor the atmosphere at Eagles of Death Metal second gig after the tragic events of Bataclan. I am very proud of this band being able to come back to the stage and perform. The love and support between fans and the band is tremendous. According to frontman Jesse Hughes these concerts on this tour will be their best ones since they managed to survive Bataclan.

Ne Obliviscaris is a brilliant extreme progressive metal band from Melbourne Australia with a sound which is both epic and progressive with influences from death to black, trash and melodic metal, and classical, jazz and avant-garde. They use a variety of instruments consisting of a violin, two guitars, bass, drums, clean and extreme vocal. Awesome aussie progmetal!

Robert Vendetta begynte i høst en fantastisk musikalsk reise som resulterte i ei plate han er veldig stolt av. Platen ble ferdigstilt i samarbeid med den britiske produsenten Eliot James (Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Gabriella Cilmi) i famøse Eastcote studios i London. Studioet har huset artister som Adele, Tom Jones og Depeche Mode. Resultatet er den solide konseptplaten «Miss Martinez.» 

Robert kaller den nye musikken sin Retropop. Den er en klar blanding av glamrock og moderne pop ikledd en crooners eleganse. Musikk som passer Roberts særegne stemme og rå sceneshow, og gir ham frihet til å skape både magi på dansegulvet og såre øyeblikk du kjenner langt inn i sjelen. Med seg på veien har han ett fantastisk band bestående av Ole Tobias Antonsen (Klondike) på trommer og Erlend Markussen (Klondike) på bass.

Våren 2015 skal brukes til å bygge ett variert live-show basert på Roberts erfaring som artist, skuespiller og danser. Det vil også produseres en del videoer bl.a. to musikkvideoer i samarbeid med Gatekunstakademiet.

In Mars 2013 I decided to explore Berlin for the first time.

I brought my Leica Monochrom and my girlfriend and we went on an adventure in the freezing cold. 

We explored the National Historic Museum, Checkpoint Charlie, Typography of Terror, the Holocaust Memorial, Kreuzberg, East side Gallery, Leica Store Berlin and lots of other cool places.

I had a great time and I will definitely go back to Berlin in the summer time.
Its an amazing city.
I love Berlin! 
 

My last trip to India lead me to Lucknow. A city 500km outside of Dehli. Here I felt as I was the only foreign turist. I met and photographed people randomly and they were all comfortable in front of the lens. India is truly a paradise for a potrait and street photographer. I will definitely travel back and explore more.
